University Interscholastic League (UIL) announced their latest district realignments to be used by Texas high schools for the next 2 years.
HP was reclassified as a 5A school based on enrollment of 1116 students (the new 6A is 1150 minimum). The following schools join HP in District 15-5A:
- Forney
- Lucas Lovejoy
- Mesquite Poteet
- North Forney
- Royse City
- West Mesquite
- Wylie East
Notable is Lovejoy which has won 5 state championships and was 5A finalist last year. They will be loaded again this year but HPVB is no slouch. It’ll be fun!
