After 4 weeks of fundraising through Snap Raise, HPVB has collected a record $26,405 with 95% participation. A big thank you to all our donors for your generosity and support! The 3 players who raised the most money (plus having the most donors) were Jeanne, Jordan, and EC. Great job by them and all the HPVB players!

Tue Aug 30 – Freshmen, JV, Varsity home games VS Midlothian, 5:30 at HPHS. Update: Varsity was a little shaky in the first set against Midlothian with 8 service errors but won 3-0 in front of a loud home crowd with HP football and HPVB alumni parents. Then after the game, HPVB had a ceremony to share Coach Dearman’s 600th career victory with the home fans.

Sat Sept 3 – JV at Larmar Tournament (Arlington Lamar high school – 1400 Lamar Blvd West, Arlington, TX 76012), Playing schedule (There is no pool play at this tournament. JV will go straight into bracket play with a minimum of 3 matches)
Mon Sept 5 – No school due to Labor Day but we do have volleyball practice. Varsity 8:30-11:00. JV 10:00-12:00. Freshmen 2:00-4:00

Schedule UPDATE: At Plano’s Circle of Champions tournament where the state’s top teams came to sort out the pecking order before district season begins, HP finished 7th out of 32 teams, with wins against Lake Travis, The Colony, McKinney, Colleyville-Heritage, and losses to Hebron (#7 in state, 6A) and Plano West (#5 in state, 6A). HPVB is proud of how the team is climbing up the ladder and captain Jordan making All-Tournament team!! Congratulations, Jordan!!
Congratulations to Coach Dearman on winning his 600th career win today, August 19, 2016. It was a 2 set win over Flower Mound at the Northwest Tournament where HP has gone 6-0 in the last 2 days to make the quarter finals of the Championship Bracket. For the season, HP is currently 15-2. This 2016 team with 3 varsity returnees and 10 rookies is exceeding expectations thanks to the good work by coach Dearman and coach Poole.
Of the 1124 public high schools in Texas, only 27 active head coaches have reached the 600 wins milestone. Congratulations Coach Dearman!
